Resources We Love

  • Project Hope

Project Hope is a community of first responders who have struggled with or are currently struggling with depression, PTSD, or suicidal thoughts. If you need someone to talk to, it’s a great place with likeminded folks, and it gives great purpose to those of us that have struggled with these issues but are now in recovery.

  • The Things We All Carry Podcast

The Things We All Carry Podcast is a podcast about first responders and their trauma on the job. Each story is unique and demonstrates that we are not alone and that there is hope. It has been instrumental in my recovery and each week, I learn something new and find connection with each guest.

  • Dave Ramsey

Dave Ramsey changed my life. Money fights and money problems are the number one cause of divorce in America today. They also happen to be a leading cause of suicide and EMS is rife with them. There’s two sides of the money equation. We spend a lot of time complaining about the income side, but Dave can help with the Outgo. Using Dave’s program, my wife and I paid off somewhere around $200,000 in debt. I highly recommend his book The Total Money Makeover or his podcast The Ramsey Show.

  • Vermont Paws and Boots

Since its inception, Vermont Paws & Boots mission has been simple and straight-forward, to save the lives of veterans and first responders who are struggling with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Traumatic Brain Injury, Military Sexual Trauma, and physical disabilities. They do so by training service dogs and their handlers to recognize and mitigate the signs of anxiety and PTSD, and they do it at no cost to the handler. How could you not love that?

  • Safe Call Now

Safe Call Now provides first responders with a simple and confidential way to ask for help for a wide range of issues. Staffed by public safety professionals and former law enforcement officers, Safe Call Now is a safe place to turn where they can connect with and receive support from trained staff who understand the demands of their careers. Their trained peer advocates provide assistance, resources, and support for any public safety or medical personnel, and their families, who are experiencing a crisis, or need someone to lend them an ear.
